Handheld GPS Emergency Tracker

by

Rick Smith, Hien Tran, Trung Tran

The GPS Emergency Tracker is a handheld devise aiding a person in distress to obtain help.  If a person requires assistance then the GPS coordinates of that person are transmitted on an emergency radio frequency.  Personnel receiving the distress signal are then able to organize a rescue party.  The rescuers, having a similar device will receive the victim's GPS coordinates, distance to him/her and heading instructions as they are moving to that person.  Simultaneously the victim will receive the re-assuring information that a rescue party is on the way including the distance from the rescue team as well as the direction from which they are coming.
