Proposal development: Each student will work in a group of 2-4 to create an initial design and a written proposal for a project in Electrical Engineering.
Weekly seminar: Students should attend weekly seminar (Tuesday 12:30~2:00) in room E189 (Eng. Auditorium). Two to three written assignments on the seminar topics will be assigned.

Course Requirement:
Attend weekly seminar and bring a scantron form each week and turn it in at the end of the class.
Turn in assigned written homework.
Complete a project sing-up sheet by 9/21/99.
Meet with your advisor regularly as per his or her instructions.
Complete a written proposal by 12/7/99.
Give an oral presentation of the proposal (presentations begin on 11/30/99).

Don’t lecture.
Your audiences are the students, not your advisor.

Delivery

Use at least 18 points font size on all slides.
Avoid detailed schematics and equations.
For each diagram, give an introduction before going into detail.

Strasilla's Progress Report Requirement

In EE198 A/B biweekly progress memos have to be submitted to Prof. Strasilla.  These may be done by email or by handing it in personally.  The first report is due two weeks after the initial signup in EE198A or in the second week of the semester in EE198B.  Students are encouraged to periodically meet with Strasilla during his office hours.  These meetings do not replace the progress memo.

The memos should contain the following info:

Project Title
Date
Names of all group members and their email addresses
Report of what project related work you did since submission of the last report
Report of what you intend to do in the next two weeks
State also any problems, and whether you are in phase with your time-line
It is understood that it is part of your project to do research and/or to study some aspects.  This also should be mentioned in the memo.
It is advisable to make yourself a form with the non-changing items pre-printed, and then to fill out the rest.
