diploma.wmf (3510 bytes) Advising

Every undergraduate EE major must see the Major Advisor at least one year before graduation.  Professor Strasilla will advise all students whose last name is between  M and Q.  To find out more about this see the EE Dept. web site at: http://www.engr.sjsu.edu/electrical.   Program information and documents also are on line.

No appointments are necessary, if you see Strasilla during his office hours.

    Hint to expedite this process:

Get the major and the elective form from the EE Office
Be sure you have a copy of your transfer evaluation if you transferred courses from non-SJSU colleges
Type your major form carefully.
If you substitute SJSU courses by transferred courses, then cross out the SJSU course and type beneath it the course which you wish to substitute
Write on the elective form the electives you wish to take
Gather all your transcripts
Bring all of above to your major advisor at his office hour for approval
After you get his signature, make a copy for your records, and drop off the major form original at the EE Dept. Office
In about two weeks check the EE Dept. Office  and hope that your name is not on a list
If your name is on that list, then see your major form advisor again in order to clear up any irregularities.
                                                                    .
Useful hint:  I will check your major form with a LabView generated Prerequisite Checker.   To avoid me discovering any discrepancies in regard to course sequence, to check whether you satisfy the pre- and corequistes, I would suggest that you see me after you informally prepare your major form.  Then you can check your choice with my program.   This way you avoid having to retype your form, which becomes harder to do since students have difficulties finding type-writers.
