Description:
In order to provide resources for the advancement of the educational mission of the San José State University, August Scherer through his estate provided for the establishment of a scholarship fund for students in what was then known as the Department of Aeronautics. Students in any area of aviation are eligible for this scholarship; however, the overall GPA requirement for this scholarship is 3.0. There are two scholarships $2000 available; one to a transfer student and one to a freshman. The freshmen scholarship is renewable for three additional years if the GPA is maintained.
