Association of Facilities Engineering
To promote networking opportunities between professionals and students and to stimulate interest in Facilities Engineering via monthly general meetings, company tours, evening dinners and other social events.
Amateur Radio Club
The SJSUARC is open to students at San Jose State University who are interested in Ham Radio, radio communications, and RF. You do not need a ham license to join. Staff and non-students are invited to join also.
The purpose of SJSUARC is to promote amateur radio and encourge students, faculty and staff at SJSU to use amateur radio.
American Concrete Institute
The mission of this chapter is to promote civil engineering as a profession and as an institute that enhances the quality of life through public service and free enterprise. American Society of Mechanical Engineers
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers was founded in 1880. The Bay Area Chapter of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society's mission is to promote the discovery and exchange of knowledge concerning the characteristics of human beings that are applicable to the design of systems and devices of all kinds in the Bay Area region.
Biomedical Engineering Society

The Biomedical Engineering Society is dedicated to promoting the profession of biomedical engineering through the organized effort of this group in study, research, and discussion of the fields of biomedical engineering and the dissemination of knowledge thereby gained. The chapter shall promote membership and fellowship in the BMES by acquainting the student body with the ideas, purposes, and objectives of BMES.
Black Alliance of Scientists and Engineers
The Black Alliance of Scientists and Engineers (BASE) at San Jose State University (SJSU) is a chapter organization of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). BASE exists primarily for those students who are fully matriculated at SJSU and are pursuing a degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology. However, BASE is open to any individual that shares its overall goals.
Chi Epsilon
Chi Epsilon is a National Civil Engineering Honor Society. We are dedicated to the purpose of maintaining and promoting the status of civil engineering as an ideal profession. Chi Epsilon was organized to recognize the characteristics of the individual civil engineer, which is deemed to be fundamental to the successful pursuit of an engineering career, and to aid in the development of those characteristics in the civil engineering student. To contribute to the improvement of the civil engineering profession, Chi Epsilon fosters the development and exercise of sound traits of character and technical ability among civil engineers, and its members, by precept and example, toward an ever-higher standard of professional service.
EarthquakeEngineering Research Institute
The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) is an organization of professional engineers dedicated to promoting knowledge about seismic design. The student chapter (EERI-SJSU) on the San Jose State campus is devoted to the same goal with a targeted focus; to promote knowledge of earthquake engineering to the SJSU student body and to the local San Jose community. As a student organization, the chapter also provides students with opportunities for hands-on experiences that they may not find in the classroom.
Engineers Without Borders
The San Jose State University chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-SJSU) is a newly established student chapter of EWB-USA, a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineering professionals.
Engineering to Harness & Optimize Sustainability
ETHOS (Engineering To Harness & Optimize Sustainability) is a student organization at San Jose State University that takes part in engineering projects developing technologies for more efficient use of natural resources. There are currently two project we are working on toward this end; the GTR concept vehicle, and the Thermal Solar Power project.

The Society of Latino Engineers and Scientists was founded in 1981, and is dedicated to the advancement of Latino engineers and scientists, SOLES encourages participation of all students and is comprised primarily of Latino students from a variety of backgrounds and with an emphasis in engineering and science.

The SPE Student Section is affiliated with the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). Established in the United States over sixty years ago SPE has become a global leader in information, innovation, and distribution of plastics.

The Society of Women Engineers is the largest non-profit educational and service organization representing both student and professional women in engineering and technical fields.
Solar Energy Engineering Club
The Solar Energy Engineering Club at San Jose State University aims to promote and develop a general understanding of the field of solar energy engineering. Members of the club get hands-on experience working on engineering projects, learn about solar technologies and business trends, and get exposure to local industry leaders in solar energy.
The SEEC serves as an educational forum for discussion and cooperation between students, faculty, and industry, providing an invaluable networking opportunity. Guest speakers and industry tours are periodically offered to further expand the relationship between academia and industry.
Tau Beta Pi
The Tau Beta Pi Association was founded at Lehigh University in 1885 by Edward Higginson Williams, Jr., to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges.
Vietnamese Engineering Student Association
The Vietnamese Engineering Student Association at San Jose State University is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1995 for the following purposes: To improve the relationship between Vietnamese students at the College of Engineering, San Jose State University and other neighboring Colleges. To provide assistance and advices on all academic matters. To organize tutoring sections and engineering workshops to enhance student's skills and knowledge, and also to promote higher education among students.
