Incoming Students
My SJSU
Each new student admitted to SJSU receives a user ID and password to a personal My SJSU account. At My SJSU, students can update personal information, enroll in classes, view grades, pay fees and more.
Orientation
Each summer during the months of June and July, the campus offers a 1 ½-day overnight orientation program to help new students get better acquainted with the campus and campus life. Attendance at the program is required for all freshmen students.
Advising
Each student enrolled in the College of Engineering is assigned an academic advisor in his or her department. The College also provides advising services in the Engineering Student Advising Center located in Room 242 Engineering Building.
Math Placement Exam
Students majoring in Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, General, Industrial & Systems, Materials, Mechanical, and Software Engineering must take Math 30 and are required to take a Math Placement Examination before they are eligible o register for Math 30 or Math 30p.

2007 Seismic Design Competition
The team was led by Civil and Environmental Engineering undergraduate Robert Yamane. The faculty sponsor was Dr. Kurt McMullin. The design took 2nd place at the competition in Los Angeles in February 2007.
