Advising
Academic Advising Services in the Davidson College of Engineering Student Success Center (ESSC) assists undergraduate students in increasing their level of academic success and knowledge. In part, this is accomplished by helping students understand university requirements, policies, and procedures as well as by fostering a community of support. Academic Advising Services works closely with various campus offices and resources and with all the engineering departments.
The Engineering Student Success Center provides the following academic advising services:
- Assistance with course schedule planning
- General Education Advising
- New Student Advising
- Transfer Advising
- Identifying resources for academic success
- Probation Advising / Removal of Probation Holds
- Pre-graduation General Education review
- Scholarship Information
All engineering students are required to receive major coursework academic advising from their major department faculty advisor every semester prior to registering for courses the following semester. You must see a major faculty advisor in order to remove your "major advising hold." ESSC cannot remove this hold. It is the students' responsibility to obtain a faculty advising schedule from their respective departments.
