Engineering Student Advising Center
The Engineering Student Advising Center (ESAC) was established in Spring 2005. The goal of ESAC is to assist undergraduate students in the College of Engineering to increase their level of academic success and knowledge. In part, this is accomplished by helping students understand university requirements, policies, and procedures as well as by fostering a community of support. ESAC works closely with various campus resources and engineering departments.
The Engineering Student Advising Center provides the following services:
- Assistance with course schedule planning
- General Education Advising
- New Student Advising
- Transfer Advising
- Identifying resources for academic success
- Probation Advising & Workshops
- Filing for Graduation Assistance for General Education
- Scholarship Information
Please note: You must receive advising from your concentration department every semester prior to registering for courses the following semester at SJSU. You must see a major advisor in order to remove your "engineering advising hold." ESAC cannot remove this hold. It is the student's responsibility to obtain an advising schedule from their respective departments.
Students are also responsible for keeping their own records. Be sure to bring your records with you for advising, including transcripts, SJSU General Education worksheets, SJSU acceptance letter, advising report, etc.
The Engineering Student Advising Center is located on the 2nd floor of the Engineering Building in Room 242 (facing San Fernando Street). To make an appointment contact Therese James at 408-924-3851 or email .
