Mobile Ground Station
>
The San José State Mobile Ground Station (MGS) was purchased from the NASA Ames Research Center
It is a 1974 Cortez motor home and will be a fully functional ground station. It will
not only be able to track the Spartnik satellite, but other satellites as well. The main purpose
of the MGS is Educational Outreach: to encourage students of all ages to pursue the math, sciences, and engineering. SJSU's MGS will inform both students and the general public of the
importance of space exploration.
