PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
John Lee has been a
faculty member at San José State since Fall 2002. His graduate
studies focused on machine design, process
development, and control representation for producing parts on a point-by-point basis,
by a novel process called
Three Dimensional Printing. He acquired practical design experience in
the semiconductor equipment industry as a systems engineer at
Applied Materials from 1996 to 1999. Returning to academia thereafter
as a post-doctoral research associate,
he led a research team developing micro fuel cells at the
Rapid Prototyping Laboratory of Stanford University. Early
teaching experiences prior to full-time professorship came through part time
course instruction at
Santa Clara University.
TECHNICAL FOCUS
John Lee's focus areas for teaching include
design, manufacturing, and microscale engineering. His research focus
is in the areas of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and microfluidics,
and his technical publications have been in the areas of microfabrication,
rapid prototyping, and fuel cell technology.
