Welcome!

 The PRIME MODULES are project-based modules designed to teach the fundamental learning objectives in an Introduction to Materials Science and Engineering course while engaging early engineering students in "real world" engineering experiences. 

Applied Engineering Content Modules: Five classroom modules will teach materials science and engineering within the context of modern technologies.

• Fiber Reinforced Polymers for Civil Infrastructure: The main curriculum in this module was developed by Dr. Elliot Douglas, University of Florida

• Data Storage: Non-volatile Memory Options: The main curriculum in this module was developed by Dr. Stacy Gleixner, San Jose State University

• Nanomaterials: Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: The main curriculum in this module was developed by Dr. Olivia Graeve, University of Nevada-Reno

• Biomaterials: Memory Metals & Stents: The main curriculum in this module was developed by Dr. Stacy Gleixner, San Jose State University

• Sports Materials: Polymers and Composites in Skis: The main curriculum in this module was developed by Dr. Olivia Graeve, University of Nevada-Reno

Engineering Project Labs:  Two laboratory modules will be developed to emphasize how materials engineers function in industry

• Materials Selection & Process Optimization

• Failure Analysis
