SJSU ME Students Sweep Regional ASME Design Competition

Mechanical engineering undergraduates from SJSU swept the top awards at the regional ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) SPDC (Student Professional Design Competition) this past weekend. Competitors include universities from California and Nevada . Tony Cacace won the oral presentation competition with his talk entitled, "The Functional Finger Learning Tool," and will be representing our region in the national competition this November. Second place went to Tyler Grushkowitz for his talk, "Concentrating Photovoltaic Thermal Solar Cogeneration". In addition, first
and second places in the technical poster competition were awarded to Marlon Hernandez and Johan Altamirano, respectively, and the technical web page competition was won by Hanaa Zeid. The faculty advisors for these projects are Drs. Ji Wang and Jinny Rhee, and the ASME faculty advisor is
