Spring 2008 Commencement
The Davidson College of Engineering will hold its annual Recognition Ceremony to honor graduates of the college:
Date: Friday, May 23, 2008
Place: San Jose State University Event Center
Line Up: 2:00 p.m. between Music Building and Event Center
Processional: 3:00 p.m.
The University commencement will be held the next day, Saturday, May 24th at 9:00 a.m. in the Spartan Stadium. The college strongly encourages participation in both events. Academic regalia (caps and gowns) are required attire for both events.
Eligible Students:
Engineering students who have completed the requirements for the Baccalaureate or Master's Degree by December 2007 or May 2008 are eligible to participate in the commencement. Cap and gown are required for the Davidson College of Engineering ceremony and can be purchased at the Spartan Bookstore in the Student Union.
Place and Time of Commencement:
All participating students should assemble by degree and major outside the Event Center between the Music Building and Event Center no later than 2:00 p.m.Please see the attachment for an overall map of the Event Center and corresponding assemble areas. Specific Instructions will be given to you at that time. Doors will open to the general public at 2:00 p.m. The processional will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. with the ceremony ending at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Tickets:
Tickets will be available in front of the event center and given to your guest on a first come, first serve basis. Each person is responsible for picking up their own ticket. No one will be allowed to pick up groups of tickets. Please make sure to tell your guest to arrive early.
Reception:
A reception for graduates, their guests, and faculty and staff will be held in front of the Engineering Building main entrance immediately following the ceremony. We look forward to seeing you and your loved ones there!
