William Maltz

President and Founder

President and founder of Electronic Cooling Solutions Inc. (ECS), William Maltz has over 20 years of experience working on and solving thermal management problems for electronics companies. During his 14 years of consulting, Maltz has provided thermal management expertise to companies that include: AMD, Dell Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Brocade Communications, Cisco Systems, Apple Computer, Network Appliance, Nokia, Panasonic Avionics, Juniper Networks, and others.

ECS was founded in 1998. Over the last 9 years it has grown and matured into a company that is regarded as one of the premiere thermal management consulting companies in the electronics industry.

Prior to working as a consultant, Maltz worked as a thermal engineer for Tandem Computers and the Amdahl Corporation.

 

Maltz is very active in the electronics cooling community and is a member of the program committees for the Semiconductor Thermal Measurement, Modeling, and Management Symposium ( Semi-Therm) and the International Microelectronics And Packaging Society (IMAPS) Advanced Technical Workshop on Thermal Management. He has also shared technical sessions for Semi-Therm, the IMAPS Advanced Technical Workshop on Thermal Management, the ASME InterPACK Conference and the I-Therm Conference. He has also played an active role in the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Maltz has also served as an expert witness in a patent infringement suit.

Maltz received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University.
