About Dr.
Corker
Dr. Corker was the former Director of the Graduate Program in Human Factors and Ergonomics. He was also a Professor of the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at San Jose State University. He received his doctorate from UCLA in cognitive psychology and engineering systems. His research background was the computational representation of human cognitive processes in interaction with complex systems.
Dr. Corker published extensively on modeling of human and complex, dynamic and automated system interaction for applications from space operations, to commercial aviation safety, to military operations, to nuclear power plant operations.
His primary academic interests were cognitive representation and performance prediction. Dr. Corker had strong ties to the aviation operation and safety research communities of the NASA, the FAA, and the DOD with several millions of dollars in research funding provided over the past three years of his association with the university.
Dr. Corker was also funded by and cooperative with several European research laboratories focused on human-automation integration, human-system error prediction and risk reduction. |
