MS Mechanical Engineering | Lockheed Martin

The MSME Program started at Lockheed-Martin Company at the Sunnyvale facility in Fall 2000. The curriculum was developed as the result of the collaboration between the Lockheed-Martin Company technical staff and SJSU Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering faculty.

The program curriculum is designed to provide Lockheed-Martin Engineers with advanced studies in becoming more knowledgeable and skillful in leading a productive career as a Mechanical Engineer at Lockheed-Martin. Considered the best engineering program for Lockheed-Martin Engineers, to date over 30 engineers have successfully completed their MSME Degrees.

The curriculum consists of a total of ten 3-unit courses including a 3-unit one-semester long project. Each course is offered over a fifteen-week session and class meets once a week for two hours and fifty minutes. Courses are offered each semester in Fall, Spring, and Summer on Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm to 7:50pm on the campus of Lockheed-Martin Company in Sunnyvale. Lockheed-Martin engineers are expected to apply to the SJSU MSME Program the semester prior to starting their program or concurrent with enrolling in the first course. Lockheed-Martin engineers are welcome to join the MSME program at anytime during the sequence of courses; however, the project course is normally taken as the last course in the program.

The program maintains all the required aspects of the MSME degree program requirements offered at San Jose State University (CSU) campus, including applications for candidacy, satisfying the California State University (CSU) “Competency in Written English Requirement,” and filing the “Application for Award of Master’s Degree” form.
