This customized MSE program in Systems Engineering is targeted to meet the business needs of Applied Materials engineers to provide them with advanced studies in the areas of thermal and fluid dynamics and plasma technology. The program covers engineering analysis and systems engineering fundamentals, electromagnetic fields and waves, fluid/gas dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and plasma processing of materials. Many of the courses include lecture content and projects developed in conjunction with AMAT engineers targeting their interests. In addition, the program will culminate with a 6-unit research or design project relating to a problem specific to Applied Materials. For the convenience of working students, the program is offered one course at a time on the AMAT campus, each with a duration of 11 weeks meeting one evening per week.
