Extended Studies Programs

An Interdisciplinary Education for Technical Management Professionals

SJSU’s Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering is keenly aware of the interest in continuing educational advancement among the engineering and technical management/professional workforce in Silicon Valley. In order to meet this need, the college’s Graduate and Extended Studies Office (GES) has been offering Extended Studies graduate engineering degree programs since 1996. These graduate degree courses are available for those who prefer an accelerated program to attain their graduate degrees in several designated major areas. All classes are offered in the evening on a weekly basis; there are also some day classes on Saturday.

Currently, there are 13 cohorts of graduate degree programs in operation with 300 students enrolled in our Extended Studies sites, including Rose Orchard Tech Center (San Jose), IBM Corporation (San Jose), KLA-Tencor Corporation (Milpitas), and Lockheed Martin Corporation (Sunnyvale). These cohorts offer graduate degrees in MBA/MSE with emphasis on Systems Engineering, MBA/MS with emphasis on Software Engineering, MSE emphasis on Optoelectronics Systems, and MS Software Engineering.
