MatE Student Clubs

Our SJSU chapter hosts social events, such as lunches and picnics, and technical events such as invited industry speakers and field trips. Members have access to a study room with reference books, lockers, and computers.  To receive information about club events, subscribe to the CME undergrad or grad listserv.  The MatE student clubs are affiliated with Materials Advantage and Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).

The Materials Advantage student section is affiliated with the American Society of Materials (ASM), The Materials Society (TMS), American Ceramic Society (ACerS) , and Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST).   Our student section is active in the local ASM professional section which hosts monthly dinner meetings, which provide great opportunities to learn more about materials engineering in local industry and network with working engineers. The 4 professional societies award a number of annual scholarships, and SJSU section members are frequent recipients!
