All students must see an advisor each semester before registering for classes and then their advisor will release their registration hold. Students are assigned to an advisor upon their acceptance in the department.

GENERAL EDUCATION

Of 51 units required, up to 18 units may be satisfied by exemptions or courses taken in the support of the major and by selected courses in the College of Engineering. General education includes 6 units of humanities and arts, 9 units of social science, 9 units of basic skills such as writing and speech, and 9 units of upper division general education courses including Engr 100w (a 3 unit course that is required). The other units are satisfied by required math and science classes. Each student's general education curriculum is developed individually with the help of a general education advisor.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Two (2) units of physical education are required to graduate from the University.

MATHEMATICS

  • Three semesters of calculus (Math 30, 31, 32; 10 units).
