The Master of Science in Engineering degree requires 30 semester units, consisting of the MSE core, the Biomedical Devices Core, Electives, and a Project or Thesis. Communications and teamwork skills have been seamlessly integrated into the program.

Electives: 3~6 credits (two classes) to be selected, based on academic advisor’s recommendation and student’s interest
Project/Thesis: 3~6 credits of project or thesis work, based on practical problem solving, including critical review of literature, development of research methodology, successful execution of the research, data analysis, and oral and written presentation of the findings. The Project/Thesis is expected to focus on topics that are related to industry concerns.
Communications and Teamwork Skills
Development of written and oral communications skills, and teamwork skills, includes writing a variety of reports, making presentations using appropriate software, and mandatory team project participation.
Prerequisites: Appropriate prerequisite classes, to ensure success of the program of study, will be assigned based on the student’s undergraduate degree.
