1. December BACHFES Meeting Announcement
Tuesday, November 11, 2003
7:00 to 9:00 pm
7:00 to 7:30: Socializing, Joining BACHFES,
Location:
Adobe Systems Incorporated
345 Park Avenue
San Jose, California 95110-2704
Tel: 408-536-6000
Topic: User Workflow Analysis and Visualization
Abstract:
Although many companies
talk about 'supporting customer workflows,' most only speak vaguely
about what these workflows are, and how their product supports them.
Using a series of case studies, I will describe different practical
approaches we've used at Adobe Systems while researching and documenting
customer workflows, and how each approach was adapted to fit particular
needs within time and budget constraints.
The talk will focus on using workflows to aid in:
Developing new product concepts
Expanding product lines to create comprehensive solutions
Understanding the role of a product within the broader context
of a users' ultimate goals
About the Speaker:
Karen Cross has over 5 years of industry experience as a usability
practitioner, most recently at Adobe Systems. During this time, she
has explored ways
of researching, documenting, and utilizing workflow analysis throughout
product development. She received her M.A. in Human-Computer Interaction
from Carnegie Mellon University in 2000.
BACHFES meeting attendance is free and open to the public.
BACHFES programs are not audio- or videotaped, and taping by attendees
is
not permitted.
