Richard A. Olsen, PhD, CHFP
About Speaker:
Dr. Olsen is an Engineering psychologist with
degrees in physics and experimental psychology. He is a licensed
Psychologist in Pennsylvania and is a Fellow of the Pennsylvania
Psychological Association and of the Human Factors and Ergonomics
Society, where was recently the Chair of the Forensics Professional
Group. After Navy shipboard and Instructor service and five years
of design work at Hughes Aircraft-Fullerton, he did research and
teaching as a student faculty at Penn State University, leaving
after 16 years to return to California in 1980. He was at Lockheed
for 10 years as a Senior Staff Engineer in Human Factors and retired
in 1990 to continue forensics consulting. His 37 years of HFE
experience and involvement in Transportation Research Board
committees includes forensic work on over 850 cases, mostly in driver
related topics.
BACHFES meeting attendance is free and open to the public.
BACHFES programs are not audio- or videotaped, and taping by attendees
is not permitted.

5 - About BACHFES
BACHFES is formed by HFES members in the Bay Area.
The Chaptersprovide forums in which members to exchange
information and ideas on
human factors and ergonomics issues. BACHFES Local
chapters hold regular meetings, publish newsletters, sponsor
events and special
activities, and provide annual reports and business
meetings to their group members, as well as to the Society at-large.
