Overview
Reporting to the Vice President, Engineering, the Director of User Experience will be responsible for the development of all the overall User Experience strategy and execution thereof for the company. The Director of User Experience will work with Product Marketing, the CTO, and the engineering staff to define the strategy and specific execution plans for all of the company’s products. The Director of User Experience will insure the on-time delivery of industry leading, innovative, enterprise class solutions for corporate mail/messaging and data access which is intuitively easy to use by a wide range of products and customers.

The candidate will be accountable for leading a team which works collaboratively with a variety of Engineering product teams and Product Managers. Additionally, the Director of User Experience will need to establish a repeatable User Experience development process whereby we can extend the product features and architecture to enable the company to quickly meet business, customer and competitive requirements.

Responsibilities:

· Management and leadership responsibility for all User Experience product development activities including the development of a company wide strategy and associated product development process.

· Ability to quickly establish relationships with current engineering staff members, Product Management, and the CTO. Participate in internal planning and tradeoff analysis while building effective working relationships.

· Retain, build, and manage a team of highly qualified and motivated employees.
· Define engineering goals, set priorities; manage agreed tasks and coach employees to deliver high quality products on time and within budget.

· Support and provide focus and leadership for ongoing development of all User Experience activities across the company.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position should have a track record of accomplishments in engineering management for enterprise email/messaging and corporate data access related products.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, HCI, or other related area with a proven track record of developing easy to use products.

· Solid understanding of customer focused design principles, analytical and conceptual design skills and the ability to develop and promote a consistent and predictable development process.

Other qualifications include:
