CoE receives top marks in annual college rankings report

US News and World Report Best Colleges 2013

The coveted annual college rankings report by U.S. News & World Report, the 2013 edition of “Best Colleges,” is out and there’s good news for San Jose State University and the Davidson College of Engineering.

3rd in the nation

The college ranked third in the nation – up from seventh last year – among public universities offering bachelor and master’s degrees.

“Our CoE community of dedicated faculty and staff always strive to offer the best education possible for our talented students,” says Interim Dean Ping Hsu. “Our graduates have had a major impact on making Silicon Valley the world leader in technology innovation. We take pride in our achievements."

College ranking reports play a significant role in providing an objective guide for students and their parents to compare the academic quality of colleges. Although just one factor in the college search process, the information is also a valuable resource for faculty in weighing job options. Guidance counselors use these reports to advise high school students in choosing a college. The reports are also a source of pride for alumni and have an impact on their support of an alma mater.
