Need MEs with Pro-E and Unigraphics Experience (Posted 6/24/09)

We need a strong UG user (preferable NX6) for a contract position in Cupertino. It will be labeled a 3 -6 month contract but these tend to go on and on. Most of our contractors at this company go on for 2 - 3 year contracts. It will be at least 40 hours per week with an opportunity for overtime (time and 1/2). Contractors are hired as W2 employees and are offered medical, dental and 401. Want at least 2 years experience (or more). Being able to do surfacing is not a requirement.

Manufacturing Engineering Technician

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (PARTIAL LIST):

- Pilot all activities associated with Cable Tie Guns, including but not limited to maintenance, calibration, data collection, replacement.
- Support activities related to validation of new and re-worked equipment used in the clean room.
- Assist with review of documents prior to release in production.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure the tube stretching log is accurate and up to date.
- Write Manufacturing SOP’s in compliance with the Quality System documentation policy through the Product Life Cycle Management system (Smarteam). Additionally, review all Manufacturing SOP’s for relevance and accuracy.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to create optimized SOPs to constantly improve productivity.
- Support Manufacturing Engineers with training and qualifying clean room personnel.
- Support improvement programs for new and existing Manufacturing Processes.
- Assure that production-related information utilized in the ERP and PLM is up to date, accurate, and consistent.
- Propose alternative methodologies to continuously improve and optimize operating procedures, work flows and data management.
- Assist in creating schematics and dimensional drawings associated with manufacturing.
- Coordinate with other departments, including Production and Design Engineering, to help determine accurate labor times.
- Support Maintenance Technicians as needed to help identify preventive maintenance improvements.
- Provide support to clean room operations to avoid production interruption.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- Some college required, preferably in mechanical or technical program
- 2+ years experience working in a similar role
- Intermediate skills using Excel and other Microsoft Office products is required.
- AutoCAD and Solidworks experience is desirable.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Concepts highly desired.
- Ability to read, write and converse effectively in English; knowledge of French language is a plus.
- Must be able to work with mathematical concepts, and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Understanding and proficiency in metric dimensional information and conversions required.
