CubeSat Team SJSU is currently constructing a small 10cm-on-a-side, cube shaped satellite (called a CubeSat) which is intended to be launched into Low Earth Orbit at the end of this year. CubeSat Team SJSU makes a point of being open to people of all majors and backgrounds, regardless of technical expertise or academic level, and is not affiliated with any class or major.

It exposes engineering students to advanced design practices. Students stay with the program for one or two semesters. They engage individual clients, go through the rigorous steps of design, brainstorm, refine, prototype and build. We make connections for students both with clients and with experts in the field of bio-mechanics and bio-engineering.

They must design, build, and compete an open-wheel, single-seat, plug-in hybrid racecar. This car must conform to a formula which emphasizes drive train innovation and fuel efficiency in a high-performance application.

Sigma Gamma Tau is a national honor society which recognizes achievement and promotes fellowship among aerospace engineers. The San Jose State University chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau provides tutoring for aerospace engineering related courses. We also reach out to the community by visiting local schools and educating students about aerospace engineering.
