The solar powered icemaker project has been featured in several publications recently, and was a finalist in the 2008 California Clean Tech Open, a business plan competition open to the state of California. The project is in its second year of development under the direction of faculty advisors, Professors Rhee and Mokri, in the mechanical engineering program. The current engineering student team members for the 2008-2009 academic year are undergraduates Steve Kele, Abhinav Sharma, Tan Diep, Nick McArthur, Erica Yuen (all BS ME ’09), and graduate students Anuraj Jhajj and Rami Abdelhadi. The previous icemaker team from the 2007-2008 academic year are Jeff Yangsamaran, Jorge Gonzales, Randy Pascua, and Jeremy Locquiao. Recent articles on this project are listed as follows:
